his study guide book is designed to supplement the existing materials and this text books would be provided for the students of English Department of Universitas Brawijaya Malang. The writer’s intention and purpose in composing this book is to facilitate some students of English Department of Universitas Brawijaya Malang in understanding the content and mastery of theory, trends, and terminology as they relate to the study of Pragmatics, English Foreign Language and the environment of society in using the language as a means of communication. A Pragmatics competence is used in this book, because now pragmatic competence is and should be used in Indonesian context. Therefore, this system is employed.
